As promised I got today off. Human arrived early breakfast in hand. Sorted out the slight ice topping on our water. Cleaned my field. Checked Rosie was all warm and snuggly.
While she was cleaning my field we heard the thunder of hooves and lots of calling going on. Sophie was all upset about something. I think she couldn't see Robbie. Since her lovely friend Solar passed away a week ago she has become friends with Robbie although they are not in the same fields. Human went over just to see if there was anything obvious bothering her. There wasn't. So she alerted Sophies human just to let her know. I have never ever heard Sophie before, just seen her in the distance.
That was it. A few snuggles and off she went.
It was funny though. The weather forecast had said it was going to be very very cold. So human was wrapped up like an arctic explorer. It wasn't as cold as predicted and she was sweating buckets under all those layers. They soon started coming off. She was like an onion layer upon layer being peeled off. Unlike me I have wonderful winter fluff that I can fluff up to trap the air if it's colder or flatten it down if it's warmer. Self regulating warmth is the way to go. Humans have no winter fluff so have to wear layers ALL YEAR! How silly is that?
Like a pickled onion?
