Retirement

 Zoe here.

Well that's almost it. I'm officially retired except tomorrow I get to take Young C out for one last plod. I'm looking forward to it.

Human is back full time. She's not ridden though. Plans to let Bob take her out tomorrow. That should be interesting. I look forward to hearing her screams.

I had the lovely Emma out to massage me and make my aches away. She kept saying how good I look. I know right.

So human took longer to get better than she had hoped. She was almost there when the Mini Wolf Ebs got injured. They had been walking out on open moorland where Adders live. They had taken my two youngest Grandfoals our to see the deer.

It's the rutting season and the stags bellow loudly. They got to see several groups. Grandfoal Lola bumped into her old school teacher. Totally unexpected. Miles from anywhere, a long way from home last place she expected to see Miss Booth.

That night Mini Wolf was ok but the next morning she couldn't weight bear on her back leg. Off to the vets she goes.  Lovely vet Erica couldn't find anything wrong, was looking for knee injury or possible snake bite. Mini Wolf was in a lot of pain and very stressed. So she gets packed off home with some serious pain killers and see what happens. Turns out she had an infection in her hoof although wolfs call them paws. Back to Erica for more medication and she started to get better.

No excuse now human for you and Mini Wolf to get back to your running.
