Human was busy sorting out the area for my hay to go.....yes it's true I have new hay coming tomorrow. When a strange man turned up. Seems he lives nearby with a field that has 3 horses in it that backs onto his house. He said they were in a bad way and could human go an have a look at them.
She said he was right. They are in a very bad way. Sorry Camryn but 2 of them were haffies.
1 has no skin on it's face just a mass of bleeding weeping sore. It was lame and had a swollen fetlock. Human took a couple of photos but they are not nice.
1 a wee shetland was grossly overweight and had untreated sweetitch with some massive open sores on it's rump.
The 3rd seemed ok.
The field is full of ragwort, docks and rubbish.
The owner of the horse hasn't been seen for ages. He is known to be very violent and has threatened the man who came to get human in the past.
So human phoned WHW claiming to be some random cyclist who was just passing. Luckily you can see the horses from the gate on a public right of way.
I do hope they get sorted soon with all the flies and mud about it won't be long before those injuries get infected methinks. WHW will phone her back when they have visited she has sadly had to phone before about some horses.
So another day for me that I got minimal contact with human. I don't mind she had a very good excuse.
Thank the strange man and your human. I'll be sending enormous Haffy prayers that they get taken care of real quick like.
ReplyDeleteThe horse people in the village that have been there longer than we have say owner has always taken good care of them, appropriate rugs, there regularly etc. So now wondering if something has happened to the owner to prevent him coming. WHW will be able to find out hopefully and get them the care they desperately need.
DeleteHuman has her phone number on the gate to my field in case anyone is concerned about me.
