The Oscars

Just as human got to the village today it started with the white stuff. That's ok. I am a horse not a human and I have my very impressive winter fluff. But I know human soooooooo well.
She brought me my breakfast. The ground and grass was all frozen and I made sure I stood by the gate looking sorry for myself. I ate my brekky meagre though it is, it's still yummy then went back to the gate and looked sad. I was trying for my best "I'm starving feed me" look. The fact that the best shelter is by my gate is irrelevant haha.
Human gave me a scratch laughed at the white stuff landing on me and went off to de-ice the trough. Oh dear big fail. I thought I would keep it going a bit longer.

Oh yes.......sucker.....she caved in and gave me some hay. Hurrah I is the best actress. I should get an oscar for my acting skills. Oh yes. And the award for best hungry look goes to...........ZOE!
She went off to clean the field came back gave me some more scritches and went off home.

Now let me show you just how much food I get A DAY. Yep that tiddly little bag contains the total amount of feed human brings me. The lighter bit at the bottom of the bag is the vits.  I don't even get any hay unless I am in my room. Although that is a work in progress as today has proved.

Now everyone knows that in the winter horses lose weight.
Everyone knows that in the winter the grass has no nutrition in it and we only need it to keep our gut moving.
Everyone knows that in the winter horses who are out naked 24/7 need lots of calories to keep warm.

So how come human keeps insisting I am GAINING weight on this starvation diet? It's not me that is gaining weight sweetie you just don't know how to use that tape thing. You keep going on about how big my tummy is. Just remember I have had so many foals. Look at yours and you have only had 3 foals. So give up on that "you have gained weight" excuse for starving me.

  1. POOR ZOE! LOL She has her human trained like my Johnny! Can not even imagine living where white stuff falls from the sky! Although I would take it over the mosquitos we are fighting around the barn this winter!
