Zoe here
Yeah it's been a while I've been letting Bob do all the work.
Yesterday we said goodbye to the 4 legged ratcatcher. She was born down a drain at the farm where I used to live. I was great friends with her mum who used to sleep in my stable.
Ratcatcher was called Treacle. She was born with 4 boy siblings down a drain.
All the boys found homes but no one wanted this little girl ratcatcher. Human didn't want a ratcatcher but knew if she left her at the farm she would be like her mum having litter after litter of baby ratcatchers so she took her home. The idea was she would find her a new home. 17 years later and she never left humans home.
She has been unwell for sometime but with help from the vet she's been ok. The last week or so she has been worse. She had a vet visit 10days ago, it wasn't good news the vet thought "something" else was going on but she didn't know what and was going to do some research, because Treacle was old for a ratcatcher human wasn't going to put her through any invasive procedures. Yesterday when human got home from seeing to us The Stallion said Treacle had had some kind of fit. She had lost the use of her back legs and bladder. The humans knew it was time to let her go quietly and peacefully. So off to the emergency vets she went.
Today she is going to be laid to rest in my field.
The Stallion is very unwell too (yet more for human to worry about) so YMF's Stallion is going to see to Treacles final jouney.
One of our badgers is injured too. It's not been a good week.
Us horses are all ok. Bob was Bob the beautiful on Saturday. The previous time human got on him he was in full on Bob the Nob mode.
Human has something wrong with her hip and is in a lot of pain so she can only get on Bob for about 10 minutes. He never complains though...
